Shoot Guidelines

Here are a few guidelines as to what you can expect from me as a photographer, and the sort of things I expect from you as a model. Its just a rough guide, so nothing here is set-in-stone, but I find it helpful if both the model and I have a rough idea of what to expect from a shoot.

BEFORE THE SHOOT:

First of all, if you want, I'm happy to meet-up once or twice in a public place before the shoot, to discuss any ideas, and just to confirm that neither of us are psycho killers / fat perverts / etc.

If you can't attend the shoot, then please let me know as soon as possible! If you no-show or cancel unreasonably, without good communication, I will consider leaving a negative feedback if I feel its appropriate. Sorry, but some people mess-around a lot, and its only fair to let others know. If you turn-up, or even if you cancel with good communication, you'll have nothing to worry about!

Sorry, but I don't allow models to bring chaperones, as I find them too distracting, both for the model and myself. I don't want any models I work with to feel uncomfortable during a shoot, so if not having a chaperone is a problem for you, then unfortunately it may be best if we don't shoot together. If I really want to shoot with you, and you really insist on having a chaperone present, then we may be able to sort something out, but as a general rule - no chaperones.

Please feel free to mention any ideas / poses / expressions that you would like to work on. TFCD shoots are a collaboration, and I like to work *with* models to create great images, so its up to us both to work on ideas together. If there are specific types images that you want from the shoot, just say so - I'm happy to work with your ideas. Just be sure to bring any clothes / acessories / make-up that you'll need for the images you want.

THE SHOOT ITSELF:

As a rough guide, shoots usually last between 2 - 4 hours.

Outfits / Outfit Changes:
Unless we're working on a specific idea / theme, I generally suggest bringing at least 2 outfits - ideally more - as well as any accessories / make-up to compliment each look.

I don't have a studio of my own, so most shoots will take-place out on location. However, I have organised a deal with a nice hotel in Cardiff to use their rooms as a location for shoots, so this means we could do upto 2 hours in the hotel, then a further couple of hours out on location. If you're interested in shooting at the hotel, just let me know.

Similarly, if there are any locations that you would particularly like to shoot at, then feel free to mention it when you get in touch - I'm always happy to explore new locations!

THE IMAGES:

I will provide both print-resolution and web-resolution versions of the finished images within two weeks of shooting either via my wesite, email, or a good old disc-in-the-post.

You will be given a non-exclusive license to use them, free from any charges, for self promotion use only. Self-promotion may include, for example, Facebook, PureStorm, ModelMayhem, or other portfolio websites. It does not include any commercial use. If you want to use any images from the shoot for commercial use, please email me to discuss.

Images must not be edited in any way. This includes cropping! Also, the watermark must remain visible (watermark-free copies for print are available - just email me). If there are any specific changes you want made to an image, please ask me, don't do it yourself.

Whenever / wherever the images are used, please credit me as Matt Punktum / HoldFast Photographic.com

I really take pride in creating the best images I can, and if there are shots I don't like, I won't edit them, and I won't send them out. I think thats fair enough. The upshot of this is that I can't guarantee a set number of images from a shoot. If there are loads of good images, you'll get loads of good images, and the opposite is also true. This means that you might get 5 images, or 50, or any number in between. This is at my discretion. Also, models and photographers often have differing opinions as to what constitutes a 'good' image, and I will try to make sure you receive both 'model' images, as well as 'photographer' images.

AFTER THE SHOOT:

After the shoot, hopefully before the end of the day, I'll send you a follow-up message / email / comment / review / feedback, and would appreciate it if you could return the favour within the next few days.

Soon after that I'll be in touch with regard to the images from the shoot.

Don't forget, if at any time, you have any questions, before / during / or after the shoot, please feel fee to ask me anything!

Cheers,
Matt
